Pregnant women, newborn babies

According to the Air Passengers and Baggage Rules, air transportation is not accepted:

  • pregnant women over 35 weeks of pregnancy (with single-pregnancy);
  • pregnant women in the term of pregnancy more than 32 weeks (in multiple pregnancy),
  • pregnant women within the first 7 days after childbirth
  • newborn babies during the first 7 days of life.

    A medical examination and a medical report, pregnant women up to 35 weeks of pregnancy inclusive (in the case of multiple pregnancy up to 32 weeks) are not needed under satisfactory conditions.

    If there is any doubt as to the duration of the pregnancy or the expected births and / or if the pregnancy is complicated, such a pregnant woman should undergo a medical examination and provide the medical report to the airline.

    Women whose pregnancy exceeds 28 weeks must have a valid doctor's certificate containing the following information:

  • terms of pregnancy;
  • single or double-pregnancy (multiple-pregnancy) pregnancy;
  • Confirmation that pregnancy is not complicated;
  • confirmation from a gynecologist that pregnancy is not an obstacle to travel by plane.

    Medical certificate must be dated no more than 7 days before the date of commencement of transportation from the departure airport indicated on the ticket.
